VietTranslator AI (“the Extension”) is a Chrome extension designed to help users understand foreign-language web content by translating webpage text, selected text, image regions, video subtitles, and supported video speech into Vietnamese.
VietTranslator AI does not operate a developer backend, does not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not sell user data. Translation is performed with Chrome’s built-in translation capabilities. OCR and supported speech recognition are designed to run locally on the user’s device.
The Extension may temporarily process website content that the user asks it to translate, including:
This content is handled only to provide translation and related user-facing features. The developer does not maintain a server-side copy of this content.
Text translation and language detection use APIs built into Chrome. Translation is performed client-side using language models provided by Chrome. The Extension does not send the text being translated to a developer-operated translation server.
When the user starts image-region translation, the Extension may capture the visible browser tab and crop the region selected by the user. OCR is processed locally using packaged Tesseract components. OCR language-model data may be downloaded over HTTPS from tessdata.projectnaptha.com. The selected screenshot and recognized text are not uploaded to Project Naptha by the Extension.
For videos without usable captions, VietTranslator AI includes an experimental feature that can capture the audio track of the current HTML video element. The Extension requests Chrome SpeechRecognition with local processing enabled (processLocally=true) and uses local language packs when supported. The developer does not receive, store, or review the captured audio.
When currency conversion is used, the Extension requests an exchange rate from api.frankfurter.dev over HTTPS. The request contains the source and target currency codes needed for the rate lookup. Page text, screenshots, and translated content are not sent to Frankfurter by the Extension. Currency calculations are performed locally after the exchange rate is received.
User preferences such as translation language, subtitle appearance, reading speed, and default currency are stored using Chrome Storage Sync. These settings may be synchronized by Chrome according to the user’s Chrome/Google account settings. The developer does not maintain a separate server-side copy of these preferences.
In version 0.6.6.3, the in-extension feedback form is not connected to a backend. Feedback text, email addresses, and optional attachments entered into that form are not transmitted by VietTranslator AI.
VietTranslator AI does not operate its own analytics, advertising, tracking, account, or telemetry service. The developer does not collect browsing history, location, authentication credentials, health data, payment-card data, or personally identifiable information through a developer-operated server.
The developer does not sell user data and does not transfer user data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to the Extension’s translation functionality.
The Extension does not download and execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly. Executable Tesseract components used by the Extension are packaged with the Extension. Downloaded OCR language files are model/data resources rather than remotely executed code.
External requests used by the Extension are made over HTTPS. Website content processed for translation is not sent to a developer-operated backend.
Translated website content, screenshots, and captured video audio are not retained on a developer server. Temporary in-memory data is discarded as the relevant page/session ends. Users can reset stored Extension settings from the Extension settings interface and can remove locally stored Extension data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing its Chrome storage.
VietTranslator AI’s use of information obtained through Chrome permissions complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data accessed by the Extension is used only to provide or improve its user-facing translation and related comprehension features.
If a future version changes how user data is handled, this Privacy Policy and the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures will be updated before or together with that release.

VietTranslator AI (“Tiện ích”) là tiện ích Chrome giúp người dùng hiểu nội dung web bằng tiếng nước ngoài thông qua việc dịch văn bản trang web, văn bản được chọn, vùng ảnh, phụ đề video và — trên các phiên bản Chrome được hỗ trợ — giọng nói trong video sang tiếng Việt.
VietTranslator AI không vận hành máy chủ backend riêng, không sử dụng SDK phân tích hành vi hoặc quảng cáo và không bán dữ liệu người dùng. Việc dịch sử dụng khả năng dịch tích hợp trong Chrome. OCR và nhận giọng nói được thiết kế để xử lý cục bộ trên thiết bị.
Tiện ích có thể tạm thời xử lý nội dung website mà người dùng yêu cầu dịch, bao gồm:
Nội dung này chỉ được xử lý để cung cấp tính năng dịch và các chức năng liên quan. Nhà phát triển không lưu bản sao nội dung này trên máy chủ riêng.
Dịch văn bản và nhận diện ngôn ngữ sử dụng API tích hợp trong Chrome. Quá trình dịch được thực hiện phía thiết bị bằng các gói ngôn ngữ/model do Chrome cung cấp. Tiện ích không gửi văn bản cần dịch tới máy chủ dịch riêng của nhà phát triển.
Khi người dùng khởi động dịch vùng ảnh, Tiện ích có thể chụp phần tab đang hiển thị và cắt vùng do người dùng chọn. OCR được xử lý cục bộ bằng các thành phần Tesseract được đóng gói cùng Tiện ích. Dữ liệu model ngôn ngữ OCR có thể được tải qua HTTPS từ tessdata.projectnaptha.com. Tiện ích không tải ảnh chụp hoặc văn bản nhận dạng lên Project Naptha.
Đối với video không có phụ đề sử dụng được, VietTranslator AI có tính năng thử nghiệm lấy audio track trực tiếp từ phần tử video HTML hiện tại. Tiện ích yêu cầu Chrome SpeechRecognition xử lý cục bộ (processLocally=true) và sử dụng các gói ngôn ngữ cục bộ khi Chrome hỗ trợ. Nhà phát triển không nhận, lưu hoặc xem nội dung âm thanh này.
Khi dùng tính năng quy đổi tiền, Tiện ích lấy tỷ giá qua HTTPS từ api.frankfurter.dev. Yêu cầu chỉ chứa các mã tiền tệ nguồn và đích cần thiết để lấy tỷ giá. Tiện ích không gửi nội dung trang, ảnh chụp hoặc bản dịch tới Frankfurter. Phép tính số tiền được thực hiện cục bộ sau khi nhận tỷ giá.
Các tùy chọn như ngôn ngữ dịch, giao diện phụ đề, tốc độ đọc và tiền tệ mặc định được lưu bằng Chrome Storage Sync. Các tùy chọn này có thể được Chrome đồng bộ theo cài đặt tài khoản Chrome/Google của người dùng. Nhà phát triển không có bản sao riêng của các cài đặt này trên máy chủ.
Trong phiên bản 0.6.6.3, biểu mẫu phản hồi trong Tiện ích chưa kết nối tới backend. Nội dung phản hồi, email và ảnh đính kèm người dùng nhập vào biểu mẫu này không được VietTranslator AI truyền ra ngoài.
VietTranslator AI không có hệ thống analytics, quảng cáo, theo dõi, tài khoản người dùng hoặc telemetry riêng. Nhà phát triển không thu thập lịch sử duyệt web, vị trí, thông tin đăng nhập, dữ liệu sức khỏe, dữ liệu thẻ thanh toán hoặc thông tin nhận dạng cá nhân thông qua máy chủ do nhà phát triển vận hành.
Nhà phát triển không bán dữ liệu người dùng và không chuyển dữ liệu người dùng cho quảng cáo, lập hồ sơ, đánh giá tín dụng, cho vay hoặc các mục đích không liên quan đến chức năng dịch của Tiện ích.
Tiện ích không tải và thực thi JavaScript hoặc WebAssembly từ xa. Các thành phần Tesseract thực thi cần thiết được đóng gói trong Tiện ích. Các file ngôn ngữ OCR tải về là tài nguyên dữ liệu/model, không phải mã thực thi từ xa.
Các yêu cầu mạng bên ngoài của Tiện ích sử dụng HTTPS. Nội dung website được xử lý để dịch không được gửi tới backend do nhà phát triển vận hành.
Nội dung website đã dịch, ảnh chụp và audio video không được lưu trên máy chủ nhà phát triển. Dữ liệu tạm trong bộ nhớ được giải phóng khi phiên/trang liên quan kết thúc. Người dùng có thể khôi phục cài đặt mặc định trong Tiện ích hoặc xóa dữ liệu Tiện ích bằng cách gỡ cài đặt hay xóa dữ liệu lưu trữ của tiện ích trong Chrome.
Việc VietTranslator AI sử dụng thông tin nhận được thông qua các quyền của Chrome tuân thủ Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, bao gồm các yêu cầu Limited Use. Dữ liệu mà Tiện ích truy cập chỉ được sử dụng để cung cấp hoặc cải thiện các tính năng dịch và hỗ trợ hiểu nội dung mà người dùng trực tiếp sử dụng.
Nếu phiên bản sau thay đổi cách xử lý dữ liệu người dùng, Chính sách quyền riêng tư và khai báo Privacy trên Chrome Web Store sẽ được cập nhật trước hoặc đồng thời với bản phát hành đó.
